We breathe on average 20,000 times a day--and how we breathe affects our overall health. Symptoms of dysfunctional breathing include: stuffed up nose, anxiety, snoring, sleep apnea, asthma, fatigue, poor sleep, malocclusion (jaw not forming properly) and others.
The Buteyko Breathing Method is about learning how to breathe properly in order to alleviate symptoms of ill-health. The 5 session course involves breathing exercises, as well as education about diet, exercise, and the physiology of breathing.
In 2010 I trained in the Buteyko Breathing Method in Victoria, BC, with Chris Bauman. I am a certified Buteyko Breathing Educator, and teach courses to adults and kids, individually or in groups. I also offer workshops for groups/organizations.
